Conventional farming of food crops
The conventional farming of food crops is currently the largest business segment of KTG Agrar. Grain, maize and rape are grown on more than 12,000 hectares in regular rotation. Drawing on our expertise in organic farming, we also produce our conventional products to high quality standards.
Among other things, we use flue gas-free dryers. Our customer base therefore includes food producers who are dependent on high-quality agricultural resources such as producers of muesli and flour. Our products are marketed to processors in Germany and abroad, with the main focus on the European Union, where Germany accounts for the highest share.
Generally speaking, this activity is very similar to organic farming. Crop rotations play an important role also in the conventional sector, especially with regard to weed control, the supply of humus and nutrients, the soil structure and the health of the plants. Thanks to our long-standing experience, we have detailed knowledge in the field of large-scale, resource-efficient farming.
